The findings from the enterprise survey, together with additional information from similar surveys in other participating countries, will constitute the basis for evidence-based analytical work which might shed light on how to promote investment, productivity and economic growth in these countries. This work will continue until May 2019 and preliminary results of the survey are expected in the second half of 2019. In Belarus, Centre for Sociological and Political Researches at Belarusian State University has been contracted to carry out the data collection and will begin interviews with randomly selected firms in October 2018. In each country the survey will be conducted through interviews with private firms in the manufacturing and services sectors. The objective of the survey is to receive feedback from private sector enterprises on the state of the business environment in each of the participating countries, and use the feedback to assess opportunities and constraints to private sector growth. The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank Group (WBG) are launching a new round of enterprise surveys in more than 40 countries, including Belarus. Study seeks to identify constraints to private sector growth.
